The Scottish poultry earnestness is worried about being exposed to unfair competition after some EU countries failed to obey with new legislation.

After spending millions to convert cages to comply with new rules, farmers say they are now being undermine by cheap egg products from Europe flooding the market.

The EU legislation means that all egg farmers must initiate welfare-friendly hen cages, bigger than conventional battery ones.

While Scottish farmers coughed up the bread to upgrade their equipment, 13 other European states did not.
