BAY New Zealand urban area — When Bay City Western High School freshman Laura Ruegsegger scholarly she had to do volunteer work as a graduation requirement, she knew just how she wanted to forbear.
Thanks to Laura’s efforts, dogs and cats at the Bay County Subhuman Shelter will have a better Christmas this year. She plans to donate $200 quality of pet food, treats, toys and other supplies she’s storing in her bedroom to the hole up on Thursday.
Laura, the daughter of Jennifer and Mark Ruegsegger of Auburn, was inspired to help covering animals after her family adopted a beagle there named Lucy.
“We got our dog at the shield. I love her so much; I love animals,” she said. “Whenever someone is looking for a dog, I forecast them to go to the shelter because you can save a dog’s or cat’s life that way.”
Laura wanted to beat it the lives of other animals waiting for adoption a little better, so she asked how to helpers. There was a small problem.
