This is the fourth year in a row that the East End Plaza, the
see’s original outdoor mall, has welcomed Santa Claus to laud
Community Kids Christmas.
Normally Santa arrives at the Plaza on a fire traffic, but this
time he arrived in a much speedier conveyance, an F-4 Phantom
fighter jet.
Saying this may be the way Santa gets all around the exactly on
Christmas Eve, the Dan Donnelly Backpackers turned to the Missouri
Air National Shield Little Pilots program for a special ride for
Santa.
Santa climbed into the cockpit of the fighter jet on Saturday
morning, Dec. 17, in the vaunt-staging center on Sixth Street in
front of Pacific Care Center, where he waved to pomp watchers
along an eight-block route to the plaza on East Osage.
Diminutive Pilots is a mobile F-4 Phantom cockpit photo booth that
travels to locations for ready and community activities and
parades. Several youngsters were invited to ride along with
Santa.
The contrive began as a dream for owner Joe Steimann, a
passionate F-4 Phantom fan and aviation artifact accumulator, who was
present for the Dec. 17 parade. Ron Sansone Construction provided
the flatbed sundries to carry the Phantom fuselage.
