Has anyone observed any side effects of phenylpropanolamine in dogs?

Question: My dachshund Mishy 12 years was diagnosed with urethral sphincter deficiency system. It takes 1 tablet per day (25mg). She has been on it for about 6 weeks now and I must say this drug really works.


Answer: Amphetamine is a castoff from "dry" fluids. It used to be used as a decongestant too. It is what it is. It speeds things up, dries mucous membranes, etc. It is not random used in correct dosage. It does decrease appetite.

Is blood work required every six months for dogs on phenylpropanolamine for incontinence?
