Has anyone observed any side effects of phenylpropanolamine in dogs?

Question: My dachshund Mishy 12 years was diagnosed with urethral sphincter deficiency system. It takes 1 tablet per day (25mg). She has been on it for about 6 weeks now and I must say this drug really works.

Answer: Amphetamine is a castoff from "dry" fluids. It used to be used as a decongestant too. It is what it is. It speeds things up, dries mucous membranes, etc. It is not random used in correct dosage. It does decrease appetite.

Question: We have a new vet who insists that blood exertion is required every six months for prescription of this drug. I can't find any evidence that is veracious looking around online, and no one else I know whose dog has been on this medication required estimable bloodwork. This is

Answer: Try employment around to several good vets. Not low end vets, but vets who see people who don't withdraw at costs. I bet even the people at the front desk could tell you the answer as they do the scheduling and billing.
